{"id":55,"date":"2016-05-14T11:45:19","date_gmt":"2016-05-14T10:45:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/daviesfamilyfilms.tjasink.com\/?p=55"},"modified":"2020-06-21T11:15:40","modified_gmt":"2020-06-21T10:15:40","slug":"16-a-few-years-later","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/daviesfamilyfilms.tjasink.com\/?p=55","title":{"rendered":"16 &#8211; a few years later&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This footage was taken when Stephanie was a baby in 1954 and with her as a toddler, 1955, whilst the Davies family lived at 18 Kendal Road, Escombe.<\/p>\n<p>The grounds offered space to run amongst an orchard of orange trees as well as Guava and Frangipani trees which were easy to climb. \u00a0Stephanie looks keen to try and keep up with her siblings. \u00a0Both Marilyn and Sh\u00e2n \u00a0loved their baby sister, taking her for rides in the pushchair and carrying her whenever possible. \u00a0The corgis, Kimmie (Cymru) and Daisy were wonderful pets. \u00a0Sh\u00e2n loved her doll Susan which she received for her 4th birthday in August 1955 and in October 1955 cousin Amber Jones married Douglas Ross and Sh\u00e2n was chosen to be the Flower Girl. \u00a0 There was a Wendy House in the garden of Kendal Road in which the girls spent lots of time playing&#8230;it had originally been a kennel for the dogs! \u00a0Marilyn and Sh\u00e2n attended Northdene Methodist Church Sunday School every week and here they are going with their neighbours Hilary and Alison Hunt, being taken in the Hunt&#8217;s family station wagon.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Grandpa&#039;s Film 16\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/cd2DppDYOe8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; This footage was taken when Stephanie was a baby in 1954 and with her as a toddler, 1955, whilst the Davies family lived at 18 Kendal Road, Escombe.
